Melmoth Cartage & Cement Products Pty Ltd, trading as MCC Construction, was established in 1964 and has been a cornerstone of KwaZulu-Natal’s construction and infrastructure development for over 60 years. Originally founded as a fertilizer transport business in Melmoth, MCC Construction quickly expanded its operations to include civil engineering, bulk transport, and large-scale construction projects across Zululand and beyond.
Today, MCC Construction is a 64% Previously Disadvantaged Individual-owned and managed business, operating branches in Ballito, Howick, and Melmoth.

Starting in the late 1960s, Melmoth Carthage & Cement Products was primarily involved in transporting fertilizer but quickly adapted to industry demands, expanding into sand, crushed stone, timber, and general goods transport across KZN.
By 1973, the company invested in mechanical loading equipment, paving the way for earthworks, road building, and land clearing. The mid-1970s saw further growth with the purchase of bulldozers, scrapers, rollers, concrete mixers, and graders, leading to the construction of over 20 earth dams in the Melmoth region.
Melmoth Carthage & Cement Products also founded Melmoth Cement Products (MCP) to manufacture cement bricks, blocks, kerbing, and pavers, supplying both internal projects and the public.
Established as a transport business primarily focused on moving fertilizer.
Quickly adapted to market needs, expanding services to include the transport of sand, crushed stone, timber, and general goods across KwaZulu-Natal.
